PROBLEM BASED LEARNING

PBL is ; one alternative learning model that allows the development of students’ thinking skills (reasoning, communication, and connection) in solving problems to deal with something new.
Learning environment must be prepared in the PBL is An open learning environment, using the democratic process, and emphasizes the active role of students.
The steps student in Problem Based Learning
There are 8 steps, such as :
1.         Finding the problem
2.         Defining the problem
3.         Gather the fact
4.         Making hypothesis
5.         Research
6.         Rephrasing the problem
7.         Homologate alternative
8.         Propose a solution
Instructions for teacher in the learning with problem based learning
Problem Based Learning approach the students present their ideas to others and to understand and to guide teachers with new ideas in the form of concepts and principles.
The purpose of  Problem Based Learning
There are 5 kinds, such as :
1.         Mastery of the content of learning and problem solving skill development.
2.         Associated with learning about the life (life-wide learning).
3.         Skills to understand information.
4.         Collaborative and team learning.
5.         Reflective thinking and evaluative skills.
Design roots in Problem Based Learning
Root of the design problem is a real problem in the form of a fact of life.
By Michael Hicks (1991), there are 4 kinds when talking about the problem :
1.         Understanding the problem.
2.         We don’t know how to solve the problem.
3.         The desire to solve problems.
4.         The believe is able to solve the problem.
Design problem
There are 4 kinds, such as :
1.         The characteristics
2.         Context
3.         Resources and learning environment
4.         Presentation
